At an open drift day here in Vegas, decided to take my (at the time ) stock mustang out and see what she could do. All video shot with a GoPro and edited with Sony Vegas.
Lots of body roll, and lacking in the tire department, but made up for it with gratuitous amounts of power at the rear wheels. Overall, fun as hell, and I don't think I beat her up too bad.

That sound! Very cool. Some nice sideways action right there.

Not that I'm a drifting expert, or to say that I've never drifted one handed, though thats usually when the back end gets light and I'm not expecting it, but it is usually a good idea to have both hands on the wheel. Otherwise nice drifting, shame you're lacking a real rear suspension.

so they just let you rip around the course doing powerslides everywhere?
this is my idea of weekend fun

Fucking awesome! I wish I could do something like that

Agreed. I didn't even realize it until I got home and watched all the videos...I was like wtf is going on with my left hand

Yup. It was on a road course that was sectioned off. The left half was the amatuer side for anything that could pass the tech inspection (240sx, a mini truck, a couple of BRZ, some 350/370z etc) Then the right side was for fully caged cars, they could run doubles and hit higher speeds, and had a comp in the afternoon.

Cot damn that looks fun as hell. Super jelly now. :( That 5.0 really sings nicely.
I take it you'll be replacing your tires soon or were you on an alternate set?

I either had my new set in the garage or they were on order, so decided to have a little fun on the old rubber. Didn't actually do too much damage to them, just a couple small chunks on the rears. Went from 235 all season to 275 summers on new rims. And the exhaust is a Magnaflow Outlaw, but it is glorious in person

I was going to do this with my Mustang last year but shit around the house kept on breaking so I had to keep spending my money on that (Im sure you know, AC in the summer > Drifting for a few hours)

thats pretty awesome
how did you get the car to slide around, did you touch the E brake at all? Or did you just do clutch kicks?

Neither. I just kept it around 4k rpm with traction control off, stab the gas and you are sideways

Yeah. I try to keep a track day fund on the side for autox/drag/track but it's always the 1st one to get tapped when something breaks around the house. Damn you adulthood!
